Detailed Itinerary

Best Time: Mid-June to December

 

Day 1: Leh to Sham Valley

Upon arrival at Leh airport, transfer to Sham Valley, passing through villages along the Indus River. Spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude.

Day 2: Sham Valley to Lamayuru to Kargil

After breakfast, drive to Kargil, visiting the Moon landscape, Lamayuru Monastery, and the Giant Maitreya at Mulbekh along the way.

Day 3: Kargil to Padum

Early morning drive to Padum (Zanskar), with a stop at Karsekar village to see the ancient rock-carved Buddha. Continue the journey with views of Nun Kun Peak and Drang Drung Glacier.  

Day 4: Padum to Rangdum

After breakfast, explore local sights including Karsha, Stongdey & Sani Gompa, and Zangla Fort. Post-lunch, drive to Rangdum.

Day 5: Rangdum to Kargil

After breakfast, drive back to Kargil by the same route, arriving by afternoon.  

Day 6: Kargil to Dha to Leh

After breakfast, drive to Leh with a visit to Dha Village, known for its ancient Aryan population.

 

Day 7: Leh to Nubra Valley

After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La, the highest motorable road in the world. Enjoy a camel safari at the Sand Dunes between Deskit and Hundur Village.

Day 8: Nubra Valley

Visit Deskit Gompa in the morning and later travel to Panamik village to visit the hot water springs.
