Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Negombo

  Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, enjoy a private transfer by Colourful Holidays to Negombo. Check into your Suite, and start your exploration in this vibrant seaside town.    

 

Day 2 – 3: Explore Sigiriya and Habarana

 

  Travel to Sigiriya, also known as ‘The Lion Rock,’ a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring spectacular ancient murals and urban planning. En route, visit Habarana, the heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle, where you can enjoy wildlife safaris in nearby jungles and national parks.      

Day 4 – 5: Discover Kandy 

  Head to Kandy, a city rich in cultural heritage. Visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, Royal Botanical Gardens, and the sacred Temple of the Tooth. Explore the Royal Palace of Kandy, offering insights into the history of the Sinhalese monarchy.    

Day 5 – 7: Nuwara Eliya and Ella

 

On Day 5, journey to Nuwara Eliya, a town in the central highlands often referred to as ‘Little England.’ Visit the Labookelle Tea Center for a guided tour of the tea factory and enjoy the freshest tea. Engage in recreational activities, including golfing on Asia’s best 18-hole golf course, and visit Horton Plains National Park, home to the famous World’s End. Discover stunning waterfalls like Ramboda Falls, Devon Falls, and Laksapana Falls, and enjoy the serene Lake Gregory. From Nuwara Eliya, tour around Ella, a picturesque hillside town with attractions like Ella Gap, Ravana Ella Falls, and Little Adam’s Peak, offering breathtaking views of rocks, falls, and hills.

 

 

Day 8 – 10: Relax in Bentota

 

Relax in Bentota, a paradise for beach lovers with its golden sands and azure waters. Participate in water sports, or contribute to conservation at the Turtle Hatchery Project, helping to release baby turtles into the ocean.

 

 

Day 11: Explore Colombo

 

The final stop of the tour is Colombo, the commercial and business center of Sri Lanka. Explore the city’s diverse attractions, including the National Museum of Colombo, which holds important artifacts from different eras. Enjoy a sunset at Galle Face Green and visit Independence Memorial Hall, a Sri Lankan Heritage site commemorating the victory over British rule in 1948.
